MISC To Produce Films For The City of Hope National Medical Center

MISC has been green-lit to produce a series of films for the City of Hope National Medical Center. Established in 1913, City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute and is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, making it a national leader in advancing research and treatment protocols. City of Hope has been ranked among the nation’s best hospitals for cancer treatment by US News & World Report for over a decade.

In a groundbreaking cancer research initiative, City of Hope will offer comprehensive genetic testing to every patient, and will sequence the genome of tumors for patients. The MISC films will educate patients and their families about why this testing is necessary for clinical care and why it is crucial for research purposes.  MISC will produce three films: one in English, one in Spanish, and one in Mandarin.  The films will be produced by MISC Director Michael Taylor and will be directed by  SCA alumnus John Berardo. The project is currently in development and production is expected to begin before the end of the year.

We’ll keep you updated as these films develop and you can learn more about City of Hope at https://www.cityofhope.org/
